What a great finish at the PGA Championship. But people in the golf world are talking about Dustin Johnson ruling. People are still questioning what is fair an not fair. First, Dustin handled the situation awesome and in a cool manner but the problem he did not keep in mind the rules that where given to him in his locker, in the locker room and at the 1st and 10th tees. See what happens at most qualifying events or tournaments there will be a rule sheet taped at each table and you will be handed a rule sheet by an offical. Also they may announce to you as a reminder to have ONLY 14 clubs, make sure you mark your GOLF BALL to identify it when playing the round. Before hitting his shot he asked spectators to move themselves because their shadows where in the way, he should have seen that was a bunker. The ONLY problem I have if he was WARNED about being in BUNKER he should been able to rake the bunker to have a clean lye.

Did you watch the British Open and see how windy it got. for most players they had to adapt an hit a “KNOCK DOWN SHOT” in other words they could not hit a FULL SHOT. If paying attention you may notice that ball flight was LOWER. So lets say PAUL CASEY was was 100 yards out from the pin, an for him that maybe a full sand wedge but with wind blowing so hard he choose a PITCHING WEDGE. Now how his he going to play this shot, narrow his stance, play the golf ball back a bit, backswing swing about 3/4 quarters, finally his finish will be facing the target with hands about HIP high. Also in your set-up feel like you have about 60% of your weight on your front foot. Try this shot at your home course especially when your close to the green with a back pin placement.

Went to the Stack and Tilt Golf Academy at Burlington Country Club in Mount Holly, New Jersey. Before there clints went onto the range Mike and Andy did a Q and A where a student brought up what starts the transition from the back swing down toward the ball. Mike and Andy’s answer was the left or right knee, where most of the students cut across the ball. For most of you, the swing starts with you swinging the golf club across your bodies where your divots goto the left and or right. If you notice with your woods and use white tees you will see that marks start up by the TOE and end up the HEEL. Hope this sheds a little light on how you hit the golf ball would like to hear your response on this blog.

This past weekend my fiance played in first club championship tournament and she shot scores higher than what she has done with her friends. Tiger before playing in the MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT at his Press Conference said he had been playing well at ISLESWORTH, but went to say it was not like playing in a tournament. Is there a difference, yes there is when playing with friends you will at times drop another ball and hit, have putts sent back to you. In tournament golf you only get one shot at a time, in putting you must knock everything in. When playing with friends you can kid a bit more where in tournament golf you have to focus a bit more. Tournament golf can take a bit more to get use to but can be fun when in contention. Try it at least once, it’s alot of fun too go thru.
